Gold Spear Rules
Here is where you must first go if you wish to role-play in Golspear; this is the guide to the laws by which all Gold Spear sabres live by and die by.
Out of character rules
Two paragraph rule
Like in many of the packs in Isradian, Gold Spear does maintain the two paragraph, 8 line rule. This means as a summary that all posts should be at least 8 lines long although preferably more, and contain well phrased and punctuated sentences. No LOLS, OMG's etc. Save those for the OOC board!
Also, we would really appreciate it if you could leave us with something to reply to. For example it is hard to reply to the last line of thread which reads "Red yawned because he liked to sleep". There isn't much to say to it! If you are having trouble stringing large sentences together here are some tips...
If you are to produce an acceptance post which is under 8 lines, you post will imediately be ignored. I am not as nice as I look! You are required to comply with this law in ALL RP's OK!
OOC Threads
These are an absolute NO on the role-play boards. These are for role-play only; there is an OOC board which you can post all your random topics on ... but keep the roleplay boards clear! This is a major rule, and there is little excuse for breaking it!
Ranks
Rank plays a huge part in Gold Spear society, so this is an essential part to read. You can gain rank by the amount of posts which you write, taking part in plots, pride events, or occasionally by snatching up an auto-ranked design (will tell you a little about that later).
You CAN NOT! under any circumstances ask for rank. I don't like that! If you so much as hint for a rank then you will remain a subordinate for a long time!
If you are of a high rank you are expected to post at least once every three to four weeks (this seems a long time, but I cannot guarantee that I can post too often so I thought I should make it fair for everyone). If you do not comply you will be demoted to a subordinate status - following a warning.
Also, if you aquire a high rank in Gold Spear (for example Master huntress), then you are expected to have a partner/mate who you can share your duties with. If you do not have a mate, you will be paired with the sabre of the same rank. However, this does not apply to subordinates as they do not have a specific rank yet.
There must be both a male and a Female in each ranked position, so this is why this rule applies.
In-Character Roleplay
Acceptance
In order to apply for acceptance, you should either include the word acceptance in your thread, or you could wait until we have a Mass Acceptance thread (which will be ready soon).
During an acceptance thread anyone, no matter what rank, is able to apply for acceptance, whether Alpha or Omega. It doesn't matter!
Tips: During acceptance be polite, and answer any and all questions to the greatest of abilities. If a scout asks you what skills do you have, don't simply answer none. There are tones of skills; these include...
See, and those are only a few!
Which species are allowed in Gold Spear
The majority of cats in Gold Spear are sabres, although there are a few exceptions...
All species of feline are allowed in Gold Spear, which includes Lions, Tigers, Cheetah's, Long and short tailed sabres, Lynx's and many more.
Rodents are allowed in Gold Spear, but only if circumstances allow.
Absolutely No wolves; even if you intend to join the pride as part of a plot, you will more than likely be mauled by the warriors of the pack, to ensure that you suffer even more (sorry, we don't like wolves). However, it is not a straightforward attack, as we are kind enough to give you one warning but if you refuse to leave, then you will be treated with hostility.
Horses are allowed on Gold Spear land, but not as a part of the pride (you risk being eated)
Oaths
Once you are part of the pride, you are required to take an oath which swears your loyalty to Gold Spear and that you will risk your life for it. An oath is to be made to your "Alpha", which can be either the scout or hunter that accepted you, or I (if I can the one who replies to your thread).
If you break an oath, the punishment that you recieve depends on your Alpha's decision but it could lead to death (although they would hardly ever punish youu this badly!).
Mates, cubs and breeding rights
LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT CUBS, JUST SEND ME A PM-THANKS
Cubs play a huge part in Gold Spear, as a sabre without heir is not as highly regarded as one with heir.
If you wish to aquire a mate, you do not need to inform me, but I would prefer if you did. However, you must have consent from your mate if you wish for cubs.
If your mate is of a higher rank, this may in turn increase your rank, but this should never be the reason for you to get together LOVE ONLY! This is not always the case.
Unlike in some other packs, it is the parents decision as to whether or not to give the cubs the family name of the male or the female, as gender plays little part in what rank you are given (although if you want to be a sufregate mother, you would obviously need to be a female, but apart from that it is pretty much open).
Even the King and the high ranking sabres have the right to mate with only one female. This means that NO-ONE can have more than one mate! This is a steadfast rule which stands for one and all.
No male may mate with a female who already has a mate. This will result in a feud in which two males have to battle for the female, and may result in the death of a competitor.
Concubines
There are no concubines in this pack (concubines are females who are part of a "herem" as such and are those who the king has take an interest in; so only a king could mate with them). As the laws of the Pride specifically state that every member is allowed only one mate, this practice is illegal in the Gold Spear.
Cubs
A sabre can only hold the status of cub until it's' first birthday; at that point he is considered an adult and is able to obtain rank and status within the pack.
Harming a cub is strictly forbiden in Gold Spear, no matter what the excuse. If this happens the offender can and will be punished severely, and the family of the cub will recieve great honour within the pack, and may be promoted in rank.
Any cubs which have not originated in Gold Spear but have wandered astray, have been orphaned etc are generally taken in and raised by one of the Pride. Usually, these cubs will be passed into the hands of those who have no heirs, in order for them to continue their family name and earn them more respect within Gold Spear. These are treated just the same as the other cubs, and are taught the Lores and traditions of Gold Spear.
Rape
There is to be no rape in this forum (Yeah, U Pervs!)
Lores and Histories
These mostly comprise of tales of myth, bravery, courage and wit and include...
The beggining
The Great Fall of Dire
The White mist War (with Falkan)
The first cat - Suka
The beggining of the Sabre
The Mammoth Kill (a story bravery and courage)
Crime and Punishment
Trial by Subject
If a sabre is accused of commiting a crime, and is put on trial for it. Trial by subject involves the accused being supported by a single witness (which may include a member of the family) who may testify in their defence. The offended party (or prosecution) may also choose a witness to speak against the accused. This is a civilised activity, so no fighting is involved.
Crimes and punishments include...
Killing without consent ~ Death
Traitor ~ Death or serious mauling
Spies ~ Death
Insubordination ~ Mauling but with little injury, various threat's (depending on the severity of insubordination)
Leaving and Returning
If you leave for a long period of time without us knowing, you may need to repeat an acceptance thread and you are not guaranteed to reclaim your old rank. However, if you were sent by the King or another high ranking sabre on a mission, you can obviously leave in relation to the mission ONLY!
Allies
Mistclaw savannah pride
Chermoor Plains sabres
